The first time I stepped onto my mat, I fell in love. Little did I know, my love of the practice would grow, deepen, and evolve in such a way that all areas of my life would be affected. I could not have predicted that in addition to my work on the mat, the love and support of my yoga community would change me in countless, positive ways.
It did not take long for me to sign up for my first teacher training with a Baptiste affiliate in 2010, just a few months after beginning my yoga practice. I continued my journey with Baron for Level 1 in 2012 and Level 2 in 2013. After spending a week with Paige and other leaders of the Africa Yoga Project at Level 2, I found myself so completely drawn to the program. I applied to be an ambassador four days after returning home from the training, convinced that I had to be a part of AYP.
Yoga has changed my life. I will continue to stay inspired to share this with others as they create change. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to expand my community, to spread love, and to grow with the Africa Yoga Project.
